My name is Ira Willey and I live in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island.
I am a serial entrepreneur which has allowed me to turn my passion for games into a full-time career. I’ve been making websites and designing games for almost half my life now. My very first website was a Diablo strategy site. It had animated gifs, a midi-soundtrack, everything you’d expect from a mid-90s Geocities page. Despite the complete lack of content, it still managed to get over 600 hits in the first month. I have been hooked ever since.
In 2002 after a summer backpacking Europe I returned home and created AddictingGames. It has been my most successful site and is now owned by MTV Networks.
After the sale in 2005 I launched OneMoreLevel and it has grown to over 3 million visitors a month. I’m not nearly talented enough to have made all the 1400 games featured on OML (they are sent in from the thriving Flash games community) but once in awhile I still develop my own games:
- Buried Alive – A not so epic point and click adventure
- Sim Web 2.0 Company – A satire of the second dotcom bubble. Featured on TechCrunch.
- Free Rider 1 & 2 – Over 20 million plays and spawned an onslaught of clones (Co-created with Pete Shadbolt)
The design philosophy behind OneMoreLevel is to keep the quality of games high, the site clean and simple and the advertising minimal. I try and take this approach of simplicity to all my projects.

What happened to 9 ball. I played it all the time. The screen comes up but the pool table screen is blank.

Wow, just saw this after being on the site for years, I had no idea you were responsible for the Free Riders, just wanted to make a shout out and give you props because those are some painfully addictive games that have infinite possibilities, very well done
